Shipping on individual accessories from PT is outrageous. I would have bought a LMB and a blade, but the shipping to DC was too much.

$350 just for the $500 blade.

$460 for the $500 blade and $450 LMB together.

Unbelieveable. I guess that they really would rather you stop by their shop.

I hear you all about the forks. The 1430 forks are $1900. The 1445 forks are $2000, and the 1460 forks are $3200. The first two are priced high, but the 1460 forks are just ridiculous. I ended up getting clamp on forks for now from:

I got the medium duty for $449, and they threw in a stabilizer for $25. Free shipping as well.

If they work out good I might get the debris forks later. They look like they might be a really useful tool:

If the clamp on forks don't work well enough, I will get an aftermarket set of skid steer forks and weld on a QA plate. They are about half the price of PT's.

WOW! That's salty. The forks for the PT425 are $400.00. 9 years ago they were only $250. :shocked:

Those prices are pretty high. It would not cost much to buy a pair of used forklift forks from a junk yard and have them welded up.

Having a set with a quick attach plate is sooo much nicer than the bucket forks. If going the bucket route, on my previous CUTS, i welded large curved hooks onto reinforced areas on the top of the bucket. The forks had uprights with a small pipe section welded crosswise. A solid metal bar ran through these pipes and the foks could slide back and forth on bar. To attach, you just drove the bucket underneath the bar and back curled until the hooks grabbed the bar.

I looked for a picture and did not see one.
