Just got the MF 2360 Snowblower for the GC2300

You have to loosen the quick hitch retaining bolt (t-handle) to allow the hitch to swing out enough for the shaft to disconnect from the spline then disconnect the pto end of the shaft (by sliding the ring forward).

The square adapter shaft stays on the quickhitch.

I stopped by irvingj's house last night, and problem is solved. The directions in the owner's manual are not always clear. He will get a chance to test the snow blower soon!! Snow today 3-8"

Thanks to all who chimed in. I'm sure this forum will prove very useful to a new tractor owner like me!

Rick did stop by yesterday; I had it all wrong, the short square adapter shaft is not intended to be removed (right on the money, loulblades), and once Rick said to look at the rear of the driveshaft extension, I quickly located and operated the quick disconnect there. So, I was way off in my newbie understanding of how things work....

On the bright side, I successfully removed the FEL and re-attached the snowblower, then proceeded to attack icy build-ups on the side of my dirt road where my driveway connects and around the lower driveway & house. I have to agree with the gentleman from Maine-- this thing easily throws snow 60-70 feet, even the large ice-laden chunks I was breaking up! I will use it on our new snow (about 5") later today, which should be a piece of cake for this tractor/blower. I am really impressed with this thing's ability!

If you are looking to save a few $$$, look into the the Craftsman cab, I paid $179 on sale. I put the link below, another inexpensive one I looked at was the Bercomac (see link below) , but it was still more than 2x the Sears cab. I will post some pics soon. It works well, keeps the wind, rain, snow off you...I don't have the snowblower, I have the 48" blade and it moves snow real well, the blower was too much $$$ and it looked like it would be a PITA to hook up...the blade goies on and off in 1 minute or less.

Bobzap, looks like no one answered your question, and I don't have any pics of mine...I haven't logged in in a while, but the Craftsman cab works OK with the ROPS, I jerry-rig it with a couple boards because the ROPS has a slight tilt to the rear to it...I'll set it up and snap some pics...hopefully before winter...

Did you get the pictures yet? I just bought a GC2300 with blower and am considering the Craftsman cab.

I will be the forth winter using 2300 and blower. Worked great up unill two days ago. Heavy wet snow, UJ broke, hence drive shaft bent. The shop had another bent returned yesterday! They can't find me a new and can't tell me when one is available. I suspect there are lot more bent ones out there!
Any one know wher I can get a new one?
