Well, a phone book will stop a BB. When I was a kid we used to use old phone books for targets so we could shoot in the house. :D

For some reason I don't think my parents knew we were doing that.

You where a lot smarter then I was!!!

My brothers and I used a roast that my mom was thawing out for dinner. I guess we're lucky that nobody broke a tooth when we where eating it later that night!!!!!

Worked at a gun shop 40 years ago, and my boss and I debated the power of a Smith & Wesson .22 cal pellet rifle that he'd brought in for sale. Oddly S&W had a broad range of products back then.

The owners manual stated you shouldn't pump the rifle beyond a specific amount...but the owners son and I decided we should 'test' the power.
We pumped it up as far as we could go, and tried it first with a phone book, and it went right through.

The next 'test' at point blank range, we fired at 4 layers of 3/4inch plywood, with a gap of about an inch between each. The pellet went through 2 layers and buried itself completely in the third.

We were impressed...haven't seen a pellet rifle do that since.

A 2x4 wall filled with sand and a binding agent WILL stop a 5.56 NATO ball round at 15'. Tested that one yesterday. Plywood on the outside drywall on the back side

It takes 8-9" of regular loose sand to stop a 9 mm round at 25 ft. I shoot up to 1000 rounds into a sand filled box for my job every few months. We collect the bullets to be used in forensics education kits. What is the binding agent?

that's what I want to know.. that's why I asked if it was portland cement :) :)

Well Portland cement IS a binding agent for sure and I guess a 3 1/2" concrete wall will for sure stop a lot of small cal. low velocity rounds. NOW lets hear what it takes to stop a .50 cal round from a Barrett rifle with the armor piercing round in it or maybe the armor piercing head with the exploding trailer round. 6" concrete bunker walls dont stop it at least according to the video.
