Peter

I'm not trying to be picky just getting the terminology right. You are right about the difference about the two.

Static compression ratio: engine at rest, not running

Dynamic compression ratio: engine running under load.

Dynamic compression ratio is sometimes refered to as Volmetric Effeciency.

While waiting for the TN55 to arrive I stumbled across this tractor while coming home from work. I stopped in just to take a look, but wound up buying it. The tractor belonged to a 75 year old woman that her husband had passed away 2 years ago. They had no children so she need to sell it. I asked her how much she was aking for the tractor and she said $7000. I WIPPED out my check book and paid the woman. Get this the tractor only had 1200 hours and was in excellent condition. I guess I will use this tractor on the other farm where it will be used to bale hay. I still can't wait for the TN55 to get in. The dealer said that it was expected to be in this week, but they have said that for the last 2 weeks! LOL

Robert, is that your tractor? That looks like a TN70. I think the TN55 I will be getting should be a tad bit smaller even though I did upgrade the tire size. Two tractors in one year. what am I thinking?

It is mine and it is a TN-65. I had 11.2-24 fronts, 16.9-30 rears put on to help with ground clearance. I just wish I had ordered Firestones instead of Goodyears.

OK, Robert, I'm curious. Why do you wish you'd ordered Firestones instead of Goodyear?

Goodyears wear way too fast and you get better traction and durability with Firestones. Michilen makes good tires also but are expensive. I do not care for Titans or Goodyears much, most R1 Titan tires I seen on our NH lot have weather checks along the sidewalls on brand new tires.

Thanks for the information, Robert. I hadn't heard that before. My '95 B7100 came with Goodyears all the way around and my '99 B2710 came with Goodyear on the front and Firestone on the rear, and I would have preferred Goodyears all around, but didn't consider it important. I still remember from years ago, when we would not buy Firestone tires for a fleet of sedans simply because they wouldn't last half as long as Goodyears and Goodrich (but of course there's a lot of difference in speed rated auto tires for police cars and tractor tires).

TN55 Came in TODAY! Take a look at the pictures! I was somewhat disappointed though because it was ordered with SuperSteer and did not have it. Other than that it is a great looking tractor that rides good! Anyways, the dealer is going to make it up with me on their mistake. He is going to come and pick it up in the next 2 weeks and install a New Holland Loader on it. I got a great deal on the loader since they made a mistake on the SuperSteer. They put the tractor on the Dyno and it was making 49 PTO hp. That is 7 more hp than I was expecting. The dealer told me that sometimes they have the pump configured where you can get more hp from the factory. I feel I got a good deal on the tractor for $20,000 including a woods grader blade and a Bush Hog Squealer 6'. The loader is going to cost me an extra $2500. The dealer said since they made the mistake on the SuperSteer they would eat the extra cost. I was not going to buy a loader, but figured might as well get it all in one whack! I have been using the 4610 for the last week and it is a SUPER NICE tractor for $7000. Two tractors in less than 2 months I must have TRACTOR FEVER.
