Yes, Bob, that would meet my definition of a fully-pressurized system, if the camshaft and crankshaft (rods & main bearings) are pressurized, which it states to be the case. Interesting that they'd describe it like this:

>>All models offer heavy-duty features including aluminum alloy blocks with cast iron cylinder liner, electronic ignition with automatic timing adjustment, dual ball bearing supported crankshaft, automatic decompression system, and splash lubrication system . <<

On this page:
Subaru Robin V-Twin Cylinder Series

You'd think they'd be emphasizing the pressurized lubrication system instead....

Interesting!

Dang, I step away to watch a movie, and posts are popping up like mushrooms on a manure pile.

<font color="red">"The splashed engine oil is provided to the cylinder, piston, and cylinder head valve system".

This is where I got the impression that it was a splash system. Not sure why they word it that way. I’ve been so busy using the machine that I’ve not really researched it as much as I would like. That’s good news though, thanks for clearing that up. (No joke.) /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Reading Bob's descriptions a bit more closely, I would point out that the valves appear to be splash lubed, whereas in an OHV car engine, for example, the oil is pumped up through the pushrods, oiling the rocker arms and shafts, and drains back down to the oil pan.

I wonder exactly how the rocker arms are lubed...

Thanks Doc,

Good to know. Didn't mean to stir up a hornets nest here. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

The Briggs in my Craftsman is a single cylinder splash. I'm sure it will hold up just fine. I'll bet the frame, and cheap components won't last more than 10 years. Cool looking old tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Not sure, but I'll take it. Being the smaller engine in the fold, and as hot as that engine gets nice to know it has a pump, and forced lubrication of any kind. I did just get in an order of Amsoil for it's second oil change, that should help. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Now, back to the original question -- does anyone know anything more about the PT-1425? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I don't know does it have a splash lube? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nope, it has a Kohler Command! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I believe that all engines that have an oil filter are considered pressure lubed. A little splash lube would not hurt either. Now if you could figure out which side the pump was on, you could run that engine at a greater angle. MAYBE
