after a long day of fighting the town about driving it down the road. had to register the tractor the only one in the town that has to do that but hay that alright now i can go to the store and get my groceries in the bucket of my kioti and go to the non profit land and use it to build a road. also the dealer hasn't heard back from kioti about the tire that has a gash. but the dealer emailed and said he would cut a check for half the cost of the tire. should i take it? i think i should half is better then nothing. I do have to say the kioti dk40 is a nice tractor. i grew up on massey ferguson, ford long, international, white, and john deere. my father in-law stopped by loves it more the his kubota.

I think that's neat, driving the tractor to get groceries! Don't know about the tire but a check in hand is worth something.

i think 400 is better then nothing. i love the first day going down the road to the land to work on the road for a non profit for kids. spent 6hr the frist day with out getting off the tractor not like the old massey ferguson where on the tractor for a half hour befor my back would hurt. i also di more in the 6hrs with the kioti and would take 3days to do with the old tractor. also on the way home stop at the store put the groceries and beer i the bucket and headed home.

Wait, the tractor arrived to you new, with a gash in a tire? You need to demand a full replacement, for free, if so.

How many miles are you driving on the road? They made you register it? As far as I knew, provided you had the slow moving vehicle emblem (safety triangle) it is completely legal to drive farm equipment on the road. Done it several times myself (just 2 mile trips or less though).

I drive mine back and forth to my shop about 2 miles quite often. During hay season there are tractors on the road all over. I am also from Maine.

As far as your tire with a gash. I find it commendable that the dealer is willing to give you 1/2 the replacement cost. However The dealer should have found this in his delivery inspection and he should be dealing with Kiota.

deezler,
yea it arrived brand new with a gash so far the dealer only offered 400.00 not a new tire i wanted a new tire but 4 days of fighting . it sucks we bought it to help a non profit get a road in then to till 2 acre gardening and plow snow for familys and move wood. i grew up in vermont on a farm and never hads to register. lisbon falls maine made us only us register our tractor to get 600.00 out of us. not right. i go 10 miles down the road.we use to go 30 miles down the road in vermont.

don,
i was not happy they made us register it took the 2hrs to figure it out. so the driving it back and forth to put the road in don't want to leave it there scene we useto leave the old one there and 10 time it was vandlized and the police didn't do any thing. that 600 we pay to register was gravle money for the non profit so now i trying to figure out how we are going to get the gravel took lot to rasie that in a tought ecomomy

Illegal to operate farm machinery on public roads if not being used for farming operations, at least in Illinois. Had a friend fined a few years back for driving his tractor to town to do grocery shopping, about 8 miles, didn't own a vehicle. After that he would hook onto a wagon and put a salt block in the wagon and would then drive to town to shop. The salt block made in appear that it was being used for farm operations.
