Yep, it is a very vague law. "Landed" I am from Maine as well. We pay enough taxes here as it is. Do register that tractor again. Throw a bale of hay in the bucket and call it good.

Yeah it's sad and we bought it because we are helping a non profit putting a road in. Then they pull me over and tell me i need to register it. I grew up on a farm in vermont always drove the tractors down the road. **** when i got kicked off the bus when i was 14 my grandfather let me take the tractor to school.
Where in maine are you from?

I agree. I would have refused delivery.

X2 I also agree. The OP stated that a new replacement tire was $800.00 which is twice the amount of the $400.00 that the dealer is offering. I, personally, would call Corporate. If this didn't result in a positive outcome, I would continue the process again until they satisfied their apparent responsibility to produce a satisfactory product. Just my thoughts.

I wasn't home when they delivered it. I didn't sign off. I am pissed told my grandfather in vermont he said that when he bought one of the ford long tractor it had a crack in the coolant hose and they came out fix and gave him a two years free on filters and fluids for the time it was down a day. What happen to those days where companies stood by there warranties and didn't make the owner jump threw hoops .
As the result on how they treated me i told four people that i know and instead of buying a kioti they bought MF. Which is what i traded towards this tractor. Don't get me wrong i like the tractor but not looking forward in my 4yr warranty

I think they definitely owe you a full tire, not half. I haven't heard of registering tractors, at least not in WI, there are guys who have lost their license and now always drive tractors everywhere.
