This will probably rattle a few cages here. I got a call today from a Kubota dealer who has an
L3400 I looked at last week. It was sold, but they had to put a loader on it and R1 tires, so he invited me to come a drive it around the lot after they got the loader mounted. Very convenient since both tractors were gear type.
The fore-aft fit of the platform was better for me, but the seat was not as nice. It seemed really big with the loader mounted. It, too has turn signals.
Now, the price thing. Hold on to your socks guys. The price I was given was right around $16,300 for the tractor and loader. This was off the sales sheet, and did not include the extra hydraulic valve and connectors on the rear, nor the 3 sets of wheel weights the guy ordered. I don't know the price break between R1 and R4 tires, but it isn't huge, is it?
Anyways, set up the same, these two dealers came in around $500 apart, with the Kubota being cheaper despite the Kioti guy including a $675 discount good 'til the end of the month. Based on quoted prices without the discount, the Kubota was $1100 less.
The Kioti dealer is a family operation working out of the farmstead. Mom and Dad plus three grown sons constitute the entire staff.
The Kubota dealer has a pretty big facility, with in excess of 50 new machines of various sizes and brands on hand including an
L39 (?) loader/backhoe that looked very serious, a bunch of other Kubota L, B, and BX series, a number of Case DX series, several Cub Cadets, and a lot of smaller size tractors either white or red still in their crates. There were about 8 or 10 service techs working on various things, 2 or 3 parts guys, and 3 salesmen. It's a pretty good sized operation. Whether the size helped with the pricing is your call.
If you want the name of the dealership or salesman, PM me. The dealer is about halfway between Cleveland and Columbus Ohio.
