I was settled on a CK30 with shuttle from a great dealer. As you all have mentioned, the features, look, and apparent sturdiness were impressive.

Just to be completely thorough, I expanded my area of dealer visits and found a Kubota L3400 for LESS than the CK30!!

I was quite disappointed and worked hard to get the Kioti guy to even match the price...wouldn't.

From all I had heard here, I was expecting to save a few grand on the Kioti to off-set the lack of reputation (less well known) and resale value (in my area) from the other big brands.

In the end for me, I really would have liked the shuttle, platform and hood design of the CK30 -- other features were great but less important I thought. I found the L3400 to have a faster loader cycling and a much tighter/more postive tranny. (BTW, I found the Kioti HST to be quite a drop in power from the geared model even at proper throttle settings).

If you can get the CK30 for less and it fits you, I say go for it! That being said, I have been very happy with my L3400DT.

The Geardrive Ck 25/30's have this light the HST's do not.
The CK20's made before approx Oct had a seat that folded forward but no suspension.

Pricing depends alot also on when the dealer got the tractor. Prices changed in Oct.

I had the opportunity to try both CK30 and did not notice any power loss between the two, I purchased the HST, I checked out the Kub L series but felt more at ease on the CK, I think when it comes to tractors and brands it's a question of choice, when I see tractors and brands being compared its just the perfect recipe for a heated debate, what it all comes down to is which seat your most comfortable on...cag

This will probably rattle a few cages here. I got a call today from a Kubota dealer who has an L3400 I looked at last week. It was sold, but they had to put a loader on it and R1 tires, so he invited me to come a drive it around the lot after they got the loader mounted. Very convenient since both tractors were gear type.

The fore-aft fit of the platform was better for me, but the seat was not as nice. It seemed really big with the loader mounted. It, too has turn signals.

Now, the price thing. Hold on to your socks guys. The price I was given was right around $16,300 for the tractor and loader. This was off the sales sheet, and did not include the extra hydraulic valve and connectors on the rear, nor the 3 sets of wheel weights the guy ordered. I don't know the price break between R1 and R4 tires, but it isn't huge, is it?

Anyways, set up the same, these two dealers came in around $500 apart, with the Kubota being cheaper despite the Kioti guy including a $675 discount good 'til the end of the month. Based on quoted prices without the discount, the Kubota was $1100 less.

The Kioti dealer is a family operation working out of the farmstead. Mom and Dad plus three grown sons constitute the entire staff.

The Kubota dealer has a pretty big facility, with in excess of 50 new machines of various sizes and brands on hand including an L39 (?) loader/backhoe that looked very serious, a bunch of other Kubota L, B, and BX series, a number of Case DX series, several Cub Cadets, and a lot of smaller size tractors either white or red still in their crates. There were about 8 or 10 service techs working on various things, 2 or 3 parts guys, and 3 salesmen. It's a pretty good sized operation. Whether the size helped with the pricing is your call.

If you want the name of the dealership or salesman, PM me. The dealer is about halfway between Cleveland and Columbus Ohio.

I don't see why your post should rattle any cages. The whole goal of getting a tractor and asking questions on here is to get the tractor that you like. Getting the tractor that you want for a good price is a plus. Sounds like to me you got a great price on a good tractor. Mission accomplished.

One problem with Kioti pricing is that many of the Kioti dealers are small operations and I think they fail to see the need to discount competitively. Perhaps they are so small as to fail to even study their competition. Roughly equivalent Kioti tractors should be cheaper than the equivalent Kubotas but often, in a particular local market, they are not.
