K175 3 point stops lifting when mowing. Works again after cooling off. Oil looks airated.

Old tractor, only used for field mowing before fire season and the occasionalpost hole. I replaced the PTO shaft and bearing last year and replaced the oil. Now the PTO stops working while mowing but starts working again after sitting a half hour or so. Oil looks aerated. I think it had too much oil. I believe I looked up the fill amount when I refilled it last year. Maybe there was oil still in the system and I over filled it? Is the plug on the left side by the clutch the fill level?

Sounds like air is being sucked into the hydraulics.

I believe you're referring to a Kubota L175 and not a K175? If that is the case, the oil has no effect on the PTO other that lubricating all the components. That tractor uses a single stage clutch for the drive and PTO.

If the PTO stops rotating, the tractor would also stop moving.
