any one have info on fuel adjustment on a Mitsubishi K3B? would like to try to add a little fuel and see if it changes a slight miss on high end and full loads in the higher rpm range... seems like the governor cant adjust the rack enough... by looking at drawings of the pump I'm not really seeing anything for adjustment... just the 2 plates to adjust output of the 2 cylinders to match #1 cylinder which cant be messed with... does the "dampening spring" change rack position as well as the governor?

hoping someone knows... Pump guy?

the pump is a Nippon Denso 3cyl but id have to get the exact numbers off it with a mirror...

thanks for any info!

Its been my experience that backing OUT the spring screw allows for more fuel.. go 1 full turn & stop.. test run it.. see what it does.

DO NOT try to adjust THE PUMP.. all the fuel adjustments are on THE ENGINE..
I'm not familiar w/ your mdl.. but most of the adj. are on front of the motor, inline w/ the pump..
The adj, usually has a tamperproof cap on it or a wire seal..

Ill take a few pictures of the pump before i mess with anything... i dont wanna hurt anything in the pump. It runs great up to about 1800 rpm.

There is a tamper cap (little brass dome) over a screw with a locknut on the side of the pump that by the drawing looks like it just goes to the dampening spring but im not sure how that ties into everything...

Here is 2 pictures of the outside of my pump... the little screw with the locknut had the brass "tamper proof" cover over it... i dont see any adjustments on the front of the pump anywhere... just a bare aluminum cover over the governor stuff...

If your "not sure" don't mess w/ it..
It looks like theres a screw adjustment on the left SIDE of the pump mount.. INLINE w/ the control rack??
I have no idea what that front adj. is??
If it were mine, I'd get a book OR remove the cover & SEE what it is..
& IF you remove the cover, you'll be able to SEE what limits the control rack.. BUT.. that just me..
Why not be happy w/ what you have.. Do a tune-up on it.. theres no free lunch.. what I'm saying is, theres no magic screw..{there IS tho}
Change your filters, get a new lift pump, if it has one, change out the glow plugs, if it has them, change the engine oil & get the injectors overhauled.. You'd be amazed at what new tips in an injector will do for starting & performance..
The injectors are like the spark plugs in a gas engine.. if they start to foul.. performance goes way down..
