Kabota 6000 Engine

My Dad has given me an his old B6000, however the engine was damaged in a freeze several years ago and has a cracked block and head, plus other major wear. The rest of the tractor is fine, clutch has some wear but usable. I am looking for a new or used engine at a reasonable price. The local Kabota dealer wants about 6K to order all parts and put back together. Wow> Any other options will be appreciated. Thanks Jim

Probably the only viable option is tractor junk yards. Some are listed on the internet and some have 800 numbers. Good Luck. It is a shame that $6000 worth of damage can be averted with $4.00 worth of antifreeze.

I saw in the Northern book that they sell Kubota motors,but what size motor I'm not sure.
