Kabota L3430 VS John Deere 3520

I hope there are some updates or more recent thoughts relating to this thread?
I am on the fence between a JD 3520 or a Kubota 3940?

I am on a hill and need the HP more then weight. In fact-I think weight would be more of a problem then helps.

I have owned and still own both JD and Kubota... and I like both. Sort of like being a Republican married to a Democrat wife...

With a FEL what are the latest prices? JD 15% off list?

KRP, anyone will tell you its personal preference. my best advice would be to sit on both machines and see if someone will let you operate them w/fel. for me the layout of controls on the JD 3520 made the decision. everything seemed to be laid out for efficient operation. i have pulled 10' spike drags without problem when renovating our fields. another GREAT feature of the Deere, is the "Loadmatch". in my opinion, it cannot be beat if you like to work your machines hard.

I liked JD a little better simply for dealer support in my area, good driver layout and better ride. This is my first hydro, but I have enjoyed it so far, especially for loader work and around tight spots. Drive both and pick the one that feels right and the dealer makes you more comfortable and then don't look back...

I have personally driven our 3520 on hills with serious pucker factor while doing errosion control. as long as you use your head either machine will be fine. if this is a primary factor, you should load the tires. this will help keep them on the ground.

For the record, the the Grand L series has "Stall guard"/" which is essentially the same thing as JDs "Loadmatch"

If you want everything but the kitchen sink look into the Grand L series. There's a lot there in creature comforts. If you are able test out their (H-DS) Hi-Lo function too. It's the cats meow :thumbsup:

Rockgod I'm amazed you didn't rave about the auto throttle with the snow you've had to play with moving this winter!

Auto throttle is one of the greatest things on tractors! Push the petal down and the R's come up!!
