I need a little advise on break in mainteance on my 454. What do you recomend for Hydro, and transmission fluid changing and/or flushing. Oil changes and fuel flushs seem obvious. Thanks...

Based upon a previous post where you ask for a parts source, I take it you have no dealer support. It would help to know where you live, where you got the tractor, and who put it together.

The tractor should have come with at least three, possibly four manuals: 1. tractor operation, 2. tractor parts, 3. engine operation, and (maybe) 4. engine parts. The KAMA recommended maint sched is in #1. But I hesitate to offer additional break-in details without knowing at who's done what to it since it got off the boat.

Until then, I can only offer the fluids that I use on my own KM454:
Crankcase - Shell Rotella T 15W40
Front Diff - Shell Spirax HD 80W90 (non-foaming)
Tranny - Shell Spirax HD 80W90 (non-foaming)
Steering - Shell AW32 (non-foaming)
Hydralics -Shell AW32 (non-foaming)
Injection Pump - Campbell-Hausfield compressor oil (ISO 100)
Cooling System - 50/50 low silicate/water (yours may have no anti-freeze)

Please note that AW32 and 80W90 are suited for my year round operating temps here in WKY. If you live in a consistently warmer climate, you could consider AW46 and 85W140

Greg, I have a dumb question, I did get this out of the archives and used it. Thanks for that. I just want to make sure I bought the right 80w90 since they did not have shell. The container says gear oil, is that correct? And also my tractor appears to have the main tranny fluid that hols 6 to7.5 liters and "final drive" fluid that only hold 1-2 liters of oil. Do these both use that 80w90? The manual on this thing confuses me. As far as the lifter box. I used tha aw32 in it, about 5-6 liters, but then it says 6 to 7.5 liters in the Hydraulic take off, I do not see a place in the schematics where you put 6 to 7.5 liters other than in the tranny? Am i crazy? What is the hydraulic take off? PTO? I thought that was in the tranny. Like you already know....I am new at this...thanks

Gear oil is correct, but it's equally important that it's labeled "non-foaming" or "low foam" or "contains foam inhibitors" or some such indicator that you're not going to end up with a gear case full of bubbles.

Can't help you there, sorry. I'm sure my KM454 manual won't help with your TS354 capacity questions. You might want to start a new thread identifying the question to other TS354 owners.

Thanks alot for the info. I guess I was beating around the bush a little, one of my questions was is the tranny the same as the hydraulic take off? They have the same capacities in the manual BUT I have emptied all fluids and the only one that took 6 to7.5 liters was what I assume to be the tranny where the PTO is, and the manual says there are 2 with that capacity for my TCS354C. Sorry to be so confusing.

On the KM454 the fill for the hydraulic fluids is directly behind the seat. I have to move my seat froward to reveal it ... not sure if its the same on your TS ... Scozz
