Kama 554 Fuel Filter #

Does anyone have a good crossover number for the fuel filter on my Kama 554?

Had mine 6-1/2 years since new, never found any aftermarket filters. There was a guy here some time back that sold a spin on housing for our KAMAs - don't remember if it was oil or fuel or both - but he's long since disappeared. So I still get OE paper cartridges for both oil and fuel from Chip over at ARTRAC. And if he's out of 80 micron screen for the hydraulic filter, I've got plenty extra.

This may help, but I could find no Fram,Wix,Napa,cross to this Baldwin.
Ray from Devonn Tractors uses these on his ChangChai ZN490 engines. i have just received a case from a supplier where I am for my DF34. I have not tried one yet though...next week when I do a change. The thread pitch at M24 x 2.0, not quite a more standard 1" x 12 seems to be the problem. The specs below are from the Balwin site. I assume the TS554 listed is the Kama554.
Also ,we are all here to help each other and i see no problem going to or reccomending other sites to get the right answers or as much info as possible.

My initial response was made on the assumptions that your KM554 has the 50hp FD495 engine, and that its fuel and oil filters are paper cartridge type - as opposed to the metal spin on type. Is this assumption incorrect?

I have the 50hp FD495 engine and have converted to the spin on lube oil filter. What I am looking for is a replacement for the fuel filter. Either a crossover to a standard paper cartridge or a bolt on full replacement spin on type.

I am a long time member of both sites.

Well, maybe we can help each other. I have 3 paper cartridge fuel filters on the spares shelf, and can get resupplied anytime by Chip. You can have 1 or 2 at $10 each, I'll pay the postage. Then since I lost track of where that spin-on oil filter conversion was sold, perhaps you can point me in the right direction.

As far as a spin-on conversion for the fuel filter, I wish I could tell you I've seen one for a tractor. That said, maybe something like this Fram Filcron Secondary Type Filter might interest you

I work part time in the marine industry and we use a lot of these. I know its a fuel water separator but maybe you could use the base and replace with a spin on fuel filter? I get them at my Walmart in the marine section for about $25 for the base and a filter. The filer is not for use with diesel fuel but you could get a replacement that is. The thread is 11/16-16

That might be the hard part. I suspect they make it that odd size so that fuel filters won't fit......(?)

Nope, that's standard JIC straight thread.
