Me too. Simple job, as fuse block is under cowling. Not so on this KAMA. It's external to the cowl, on a metal panel below the steering wheel. I'd rather continue hunting for fuse wire, than start tearing up sheet metal to accomodate an external aftermarket fuse block. Putting one in an accessible place under the cowl is not an option either, due to the routing of the wiring harness.

Thought (briefly) that Maxi-Blades were going to work. Only took one $3.00 Maxi though, to quickly demonstrate they're not compatible either.

in a pinch you can always take one of the cheap old round type fuse holders and stick the wires under each side of the terminal and stick the INLINE fuse then across the terminals. this is cheap and quick fix if not slightly (insert not so potically correct statement here) ...: /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I take it you've never seen a KAMA fuse box. The reason Maxi-Blades aren't compatible, is that their blades aren't nearly thick enough. Even a 30a rated inline holder with its 10ga wire would fall right out.

Greg:

true I have not seen aKAMA fuse box, if it is anything like the JINMAs then the Wires are attached on one side is HOT the other side is FUSED to hot. these WIRES are attached to the PLASTIC FUSE block on each side by a SCREW TERMINAL with FORKED WIRE TERMINAL under the SCREWS. what I was saying is take a NEW IN-LINE fuse and add a FORK TERMNINAL to EACH side of the IN-LINE fuse, then just slip the IN-LINE fuse wire terminals UNDER the fuse block's SCREWS. then you have an IN-LINE FUSE over the top of the fuse box but the wires are now protected by a RATED fuse...

I would think the KAMA has a similar set up as the jinmas as the china tractors seem to all pretty much have nearly identical parts. but like I stated above I'm not seen a KAMA other than photos on net.

We entertained designing a replacement fues box, however the factory wire wrapped fuse box is neatly installed in the panel just below the dash, accessable, and visible, from the operators seat. There is no easy way to switch this out and maintain a proper cosmetic appearance, at least with any commercially available fuse block I have looked at and as greg said, the location and wire lengths leave little room for relocation. I like the current location personally.

I have requested quotes from several sources for replacement wire for the standard fuses, it is just a matter of determining the thickness and material for each amp rating necessary. and we do stock replacement fuses for the factory box. Personally, I like the in-the-field servicability that the wire fuse affords.

To date, we have not had many complaints about the wire fuses, but will remain open to coming up with some type of improvment in this area, be it avaiability of wire at a minimum to aredesigned fuse block (and dash).
