LS MT242HE, John Deere X300, Husqvarna MZT61, 2020 Chevrolet Silverado Duramax Crewcab 2500
I looked through the other similar thread and it's fairly old, and it appears to have large gaps between times & posts (one page jumps from 2021 to 2025 iirc). I'm certain it is very usable once a person finds the right info for their particular tractor, engine &c then it's pretty much set in stone and you know which parts work for your tractor.

Is it time for an updated thread for perhaps newer models/engines coming out?

I have the LS MT242 and it is time for its first oil change. The manual is sort of vague on the engine, giving code 4TNV88C for the Yanmar on page 7-3 of the manual. I say vague because one would figure that in the beginnings of the manual it would say right up front what the exact engine in this thing is. It doesn't.

So I looked this up (4TNV88C) and found the Wix WL7081 is the appropiate filter (allegedly).

Then I found this cross reference page: Oil filter cross reference

So I ask all who have the MT242, is this correct? Which oil filter did you find that works best? By the way, LS wants about $30.00 for one filter. No way I'm paying that much for one filter.

Thanks!

Any takers who have the same tractor or engine? Was wondering if anyone has a verifiable cross reference for a more domestic filter than going with the LS brand.

Coming off that info from the other thread, the filter I cross referenced and feel comfortable about is the Hifi SO 6105. Out of those offerings I may try Donaldson P502049 (fluted) or Fleetguard LF3646 (fluted). I prefer flutes for when they get stubborn. I like the LF3462 numbers, but no flutes. Cost for any of those is about $13ea. I'll report back once I get the oil changed.

Keep us updated yours (y)

I picked up the Wix 51344. Had to order the oil in from O'Reilly's and it should be here in the morning.

Looks like I'll get a $40.00 mastercard from Shell for buying it. I'll probably change the oil more often than it says. Manual says change at 50hrs then 200hrs then says nothing after that. I guess 2 changes is good for life.

Changed out the oil, did the 50 hour maintenance today. Did some chores and hit the second regen at around 53 hours, 30 gallons of fuel ran through her. Regen took maybe 15 minutes.

Wix 51344 oil filter worked perfectly. It's slightly longer than the OEM filter. Weird maybe, but after putting in the T6 it seems to run smoother and quieter.

The original oil filter on my 4155 was a bigger diameter so I had to buy another oil filter wrench to get it off.
The new LS filter I bought from my dealer to replace it is a little smaller diameter and fits a much better filter wrench left over from my truck driving days.
The part number of the new smaller diameter LS filter I bought is 40409065
I am also using the T6 oil.

Shell has a rebate right now on rotella. Ends sometime this month.
