I bought one like this a few weeks back and picked it up in NC. Nice trailer, good price. It's the 17k gvwr but they "derated" if for me to keep me under a combined 26k. Derating it consisted of them typing 16000 on the paperwork.
I picked mine up at their South Carolina facility as it was the closest to me and I went with the 17K gvwr as well since my 14k equipment trailer was maxed out with the skid steer and brush cutter.

A tilt deck is a little bit annoying trying to load multiple pieces but I love the speed and safety that it offers loading and not dealing with ramps. Another big plus is it won’t lift the truck off the ground and roll down a hill like a ramp trailer will do. It would also be hard to load an unsafe weight distributed load.
I will have to see how it goes but I am probably going to sell my equipment trailer and that will leave me with the tilt deck and my gooseneck to haul tractors , skid steers etc on.

Lineman North Florida, how’s your Kaufman 8 ton trailer holding up? Any feedback? I’m looking at buying one myself.

I'm not who you were asking and I don't have an 8-ton, but I do have Kaufman 10K 20'+2' or 22'+2' (can't remember) with the upgrade for increased # of cross members.

I bought it 7-8 years ago and I think the options have changed, certainly the pricing has increased. (I don't see one with my specs on their website currently). In any event it's proven to be a great value and tows like a dream. I could quibble a bit about the paint/powder coat quality & durability of the PT pine deck... but honestly it would truly be nitpicking. Zero rust, and pine decks are pretty ubiquitous unless you want to start paying a premium. I don't foresee getting rid of it or upgrading unless I no longer have a need for any kind of trailer.

Not 1 bad thing to say about it, I have been hauling my skidsteer 2 or 3 days a week and it has been flawless, for the money I don't think you can go wrong with the Kaufman tilt deck trailers, I'm sure there are trailers out there with a better quality paint job but I had no interest in paying 5-6k more for a trailer that I am going to be dragging chains off of and hauling equipment day in and day out, also I am glad I went with the upgraded 8k axles and 17.5 super single tires. good luck. Charlie.

Thanks for the replies guys, I appreciate it. Charlie, I’ve been going back and forth from that 17K Kaufman tilt, and $13-14k Maxx D, Diamond C, Midsota etc. At almost half the cost, those other manufacturers are a tough sell. Also, I see you are down south, I hope you guys are doing ok, hang in there and stay safe.

Thanks we just made it through Helene and now we have another hurricane knocking on our door, but other than lot's of down trees and power out we are doing good, no structural damage and we are alive so we have been blessed, many have nothing left to go back to.

I’ve been watching the coverage, it’s crazy, especially now with Milton barreling through the Gulf.
