just changed my Spark plugs on my JD 325. Champion RCJ8Y. my maintenance manual gives a gap range of .024-.028. any suggestion for the sweet spot.

Anywhere between those numbers is fine. been that way for many years with that plug.

I usually gap toward the lower end. There is less distance for the spark to jump and as the plug erodes it stays in the correct range longer. Of course I've never confirmed this but it works for me.
