Kawasaki vs briggs

I've owned all kinds of small engines. The only series I would be hesitant to buy is the Kohler "courage" due to a perceived lack of quality. My dad has ten hours on his new 25 courage powered Husqy, time will tell how it holds up.

Watch out for that monster 18 HP.

Having posted that, in that size range there is almost no beating the Kawasaki. I have nearly every brand small engine and my 15 HP V2 Kawi is sweet, I would never change it out.

Just from internet forums I would probably go with a Kawasaki next time BUT... from personal experience I would be happy with Briggs also. I bought an MTD made lawn tractor 13 years ago with a 20hp Briggs vtwin and it has never given me a seconds problem and it usually sits in the weather and I don't take the best care of it.
