Started a new post 'cause I didn't want the question lost in my other post regarding the theft of my tractor by my wife.

I've noticed on my DK35 and a DK45 that the seat for the backhoe rubs kinda aggressively on the back of the tractor. So much so that on the DK45 I inspected (well used) the back of the seat was rusting badly. The seat cannot be adjusted any farther forward. Any ideas, ya'll?

Thanks in advance. (Hey, GerardC, is that CK20 home yet?)

By His grace,
Bill

Try putting some sort of foam (padding) behind the seat. My seat is getting scratched by the SMV sign top screw. Haven't done what I suggested to you yet though, as I gotta get some seat time in!!!! G

Bill,

It happenss on all of them you need to lower the seat on its upright. That will fix her.

Nope, doesn't work Dave. I've put mine all the way down on the CK20 and it still hits. Not a big deal, I'm going to do as Dewave did and put some foam in between the seat and the SMV sign. Probably the same on the other models. It's the flexing of the BH when you're digging. Backs it up into the back of the tractor. Like I said, not a biggie for me. John

Yeah the seat rubs... I put some of that hard foam ya get in packing tie-wrapped to the SMV. I keep my seat all the way up better leg room and increased view. You can see it in my pics. Also the drivers seat is rubbing against the fuel tank and I am curently looking for a new seat that is sturdier with suspension. Any suggestions on that would be greatly appreciated.

Or maybe weight watchers is an option. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Also I find it easy that when ya need to reposition ur tractor during a Bh dig, that it is easy to just step on the rear tire and swing around holding the ROPS. Don't know if you guys are doing this, but it sure makes it easy on the old joints. Keeps ya outta the muck if thats what ur working in, however be careful of the mud on the tires. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Am I lazy or what? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

We had a similar problem with the CK20 TLB we sold recently. There was too much play where the seat post mounted. We redrilled the seat post and mount and used larger bolts - this seemed to solve the problem in our case.

OK now we were speaking of a DK 35-45 not the 20.

And yes lower it, we just put one on this morning and a couple of notches down and free and clear.

Man it is hot out!!
