I work in law enforcement and I too want people to defend themselvs and their families, god help anyone if they come onto my property and threaten me or my precious family, they will not like what happens to them!

Not taxes, but inflation from all the spending. Look on the bright side, they will not be able to buy the ATV, guns, ammo and gas to go on your property. I stopped some people from going on my property by nailing some large nails in a 2x6 and nailing that on top of a post with a no trespassing sign under that. I did not put any out on the land, only on the post. Everything stopped.

I had trouble with tresspassers on my place too. I got to know the Deputy Sheriff for our area of the county. I gave him exclusive rights to hunt on my property (besides me). He placed his three deer stands and put in a deer plot on my property so he is out there quite a bit. Haven't had any trouble since.

Geez Mike. I get your point but the word bribe seems a bit strong no? There's nothing wrong with strategic alliances to acheive a goal. Maybe others will think I'm offside with this.

I have a pal who lets me go on his property and in trade I do work project for him that he can't do. Seems like a fair deal. I will admit thought that it sure would bug my butt if I had idiots trespassing and I'd probably be peeved if the only way I could stop it was to make an alliance that I really would never have made otherwise. I guess that's your point.

It seems a bit strong - yes, but said with tongue in cheek. I agree with alliances. I have two local hunters that hunt my unposted land. They also keep an eye on things when I'm not around -which is most of the time. My point about bought LEOs would be that they might only look out for the highest bidder, leaving everybody else to fend for themselves.
Case in point, Dunkin' Donuts first stores gave free donuts & coffee to cops to lessen their likehood of robbery. Where's the best place to find a cop today??? JUST KIDDING... After all is said & done, the troublemakers don't get put away, they just get moved elsewhere. MikeD74T

I've been reading this thread with interest... I have 225 acres in a pretty rural area and have never had a problem with the idiots referenced to in this thread.. No gate, just a cattle guard so there's no reason anyone couldn't just drive right in... I'm only there on weekends so I'd never know... Must have a bunch of honest folks here in Texas or I've been incredibly lucky.. Whatcha think? lol
