Keeping the HTL Out Of The Way

The dealer came out today and installed 2 rear remotes on my TC25D. I left the HTL and hose kit I bought from CCI and they attached the hoses for me. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I'm all set except for a way to keep the HTL out of the way when I am not using it. The HTL has a larger diameter than the standard top link and the top link hanger is too small. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

For those who've added an HTL, what do you use to hold it out of the way? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I use a small loop of chain attached to the hook that was used for the manual top link. A rubber bungee cord would probably work also.

I used a bungee cord; kept thinking I'd make a good bracket, but never did.

First of all, Mike, CONGRATULATIONS!!! You're gonna love that HTL. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Secondly, like Bird, I normally keep a bungee handy for securing the HTL. Since mine is made so it easily swivels from side-to-side (see adapter in attachment), mostly I just let it rest on top of the PTO shield while changing implements. I can pull it to the side, and it will clear so I can go up and over the implements toplink point.

Mike, I just re-formed my OEM top link holder rod to meet the new diameter. I found a scrap pipe roughly the same size, heated the rod, and gently ( hammered ) the rod to the new shape using the pipe as an anvil. I added a slight over bash to act kinda like a clip. It works well. I also adjusted the bend in the rod to make everything line up well. I've never had the HTL pop out when bounding over the hills and valleys /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

Enjoy your new tool. I don't know why the factories haven't started adding them as OEM options. They are worth their weight in gold...( or should I say gasoline or steel these days )!

This was the first thing that occured to me. I have a propane/MAPP gas torch, but I wasn't sure either one of these could get the rod hot enough. Then there's the matter of finding the right sized pipe to act as an anvil. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
