On day 2 of your method. Still working great. Started this am by opening for the last 24 hours then searching for my name. Work forward from there.
More time to post instead of page swaps. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I usually just keep a window open while at work, and when i have a minute break.. or while hold on the phone I'll read or post... same at lunch and on breaks.. etc.

For instance.. this post just occoured after a phone call and while waiting for a pile of paper to hit my desk from the back office.

Rob,

Call me old school but given a choice of keyboard or mouse, I always try and use the keyboard.

There are all kinds of keys or key sequences that can be used instead of clicking with a mouse. Most can be found by clicking on the toolbar (where it says file, edit, view...). If there's a keyboard equivalent, it'll be stated next to the command.

Now don't read these all at once so you have something new for the next couple days, but here are some of my favorites:

CNTL+N (new)
In internet explorer, opens a new window identical to what you're on. Very handy if you like the site you're on but need to move on.
In e-mail (outlook or outlook express) it'll open a new message
In Word, Excel... it'll open a new document, spreadsheet...

Alt+tab - scroll through all open windows. each time you tap the tab, it'll go to the next window.

Alt+F4 - close the active window. (if all windows are closed, it'll open the shutdown for the computer).

CTRL+F - Find

OK - Now I need someones help. I'm looking for a key sequence the equivalent to "back" in Internet Explorer.

You are gonna kick yourself when you hear what it is!
Just pressing the backspace key on the keyboard is the equivalent to hitting the "back" button.

OK, I've kicked myself.
That was too easy. Wonder why I never tried it.
They should put that on the tool bar

Thanks Lawrence!

I use the backspace button all the time. What I am wondering is, is there a hot key for forward?

When browsing I check the Buying/Pricing/Comparions first, then Owning/Operating, then the Deere forums, then NH, then Kioti, then Kubota, then Related Topics, then Photos, and finally Rural Living. Yes, that is one messed up method of checking the forums. I find it keeps me occupied, though. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif After I check those then I just scan the other forums by checking which topic is active in the Main Index. If I see something interesting I will check it. If I have been away from TBN for a day or two it can really take a while to catch up! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Okay JayC, I was able to make Brian kick himself, now let's see if I can do the same to you! This one is less obvious, though.

Alt+Right Arrow is equivalent to the forward button.

No argument from me on that one.
