Wayne why don't you make a separate thread and post that complete project? I for one would like to see all your pictures from start to finish. I always admire projects that are fabricated, welded, and then put to use. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Mike, when you build your grapple bucket, or if you buy a separate bucket, you might want to consider having one with a solid back to prevent limb impalement damage to the tractor. Your project looks great!

Don since most of my work is done with the original NH bucket I'm thinking on something that bolts to it that can easily be removed if need be. Similar to the ATI product but possibly with 3 or 4 tines that are hydraulically operated.

The fun part is designing it, the hard part is making it work as intended.

Thanks for the complement!

Mike, A feature I like about the Bobcat grapple is that the four tines are controlled by TWO hydraulic cylinders connected in series (still uses only one set of hoses). See attachment.

When I grab an uneven load the grapples adapt to hold both sides tight.

Don guess I haden't even considered that point, I'm learning a great deal about grapples from folks like yourself. If you look at the picture of the grapple that I am using it also has two cylinders. Didn't even consider why until you made the point, so far I have only used it to move and stack some downed trees. Haven't had the opportunity to grab something like a boulder with an irregular shape yet. Thanks for the heads up, I'll give it a try!

Wouldn't the cylinders need to be in paralel not in series?

Mike, You will have to excuse Wayne, he is a liitle rambunctious at times! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gifI was over his house doing the snow plow project, and he was taking pictures like a new mother. When we get it done (hopefully tomarrow) I will post a whole thread on it.

Yes Kennyd, the line "T"s off at the first cylinder, so that would be parallel. Thanks for the correction.

My thoughts are that Wayne deserves more credit for his snowplow project than if he were to post it here under the one that we started about front hydraulics. Also think less members would see it on this thread as opposed to one dedicated to Wayne's snowplow project. We are very interested in following it because a bucket grapple and a snowplow were the main reasons that we added the front hydraulics to our rig in the first place.

Wayne if you would be so kind, please give me a heads up once you post your thread so I don't miss it. Thanks! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
