That's a great deal Ken. You did really well. That tractor will serve you for alot of years. Those are very good and reliable tractors. Only knock I have on them is lack of a live pto.

True... but in order to keep prices down... I had to give up some luxuries.

Thanks

Re: Ken\'s search for a \'cheaper\' tractor thread

IT comes home Sat evening or Sunday morning. Depending on how fast we can rewire a Jeep. Cant wait! Already have Sunday set up for things to do... to bad it will more than likely be spent doing things like an oil change... and coolant change... But, the faster I can get those done the sooner I can play!

Re: Ken\'s search for a \'cheaper\' tractor thread

Ken,
I believe your Ford has a transmission type PTO, you will probably want to put an overrun clutch on any 3 point mowing gear you get.

Enjoy your toy errr tool.

Hi Ken,

If the previous owner had this 9N for any length of time... he would had already purchased/mounted this overrun clutch assembly for use of his cutter... so wait until you take delivery and then inventory exactly what you bought...

By the way... your 9N package deal sure beats the best of any "garden tractor" you were originally considering... doesn't it...? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Ken\'s search for a \'cheaper\' tractor thread

ken: sounds like a great deal. i had a 2n for a no. of years and it served me well, like cowboydoc says no live pto, and mine was quite hard steering(mostly cause it had a big old fel on the front) when i first got mine i also changed the transmission fluid, you might want to consider that.

Re: Ken\'s search for a \'cheaper\' tractor thread

He had it for 8-9 years I think. And used it really only for mowing. So, I hope I am set. But, he never mentioned anything about it, and I didnt see anything that sounds like it. We'll see.

Much better than a garden tracotr. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Re: Ken\'s search for a \'cheaper\' tractor thread

Nope, doesnt have an overrun clutch with it. (I searched and found out /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif)

He did tell me how when using the brush hog, it will push the tracotr for a foot or so when you go to stop. Said it is barley noticable on the mower though.
