Ha ha I'm glad it was so simple! It pays to check the simple things first!
I changed an oil pump in a jeep grand cherokee once because I was sure the oil pump was bad, well It didn't help the oil pressure (on the guage) Turned out the sending unit was bad! The new oil pump did help the pressure though, after changed the sending unit.
