Prolonged low temperatures around the Great Lakes means they’re freezing over, which is a beautiful sight from space.
“The glorious Great Lakes on a frigid winter’s day - when it’s probably best to enjoy the view from space,” the Cooperative Institute Meteorological Satellite Studies said in a
Facebook post of satellite photos.
The photos show 22% ice coverage on the Great Lakes, and that’s “expanding nightly, CIMSS said.
