HOUGHTON – The Keweenaw Peninsula has surpassed the 300-inch mark for snow in the 2024-25 Winter Season. The Keweenaw County Road Commission reported on Thursday a season total of 301.25 inches. The snowiest month was February,

One thing we never got into was the snowbird thing though lots of people around here do including 2 of my renter families. They just got back from Cocoa Beach and now are freezing their butts off...lol

301 inches...that's over 25 FEET of snow!

Always got a charge out of driving to the UP in the summer and observing the 2 height road signs as well as the market poles on the roadside, installed specifically for winter / summer usage.

I don't mind some snow but that level of snow for me is unacceptable.

That really reminds me of us taking our youngest to a track meet that was held in a snowstorm. Wet, heavy snow. They fired the starting gun and you couldn't see anyone after the first turn and they didn't come into view again until they were half-way down the stretch. Not normal for us at all.

I guess your local kids are used to it, though.

Just the little one is a mouser but we have never seen her catch anything. Its mice and shrews she hears.

Out looking at property's today. Still got snow here, Painsdale is the high country and see much more than we do in town.
