Kioti CK25
I am having trouble starting my CK25. I turn the key on and once the glow plug light goes out, the tractor starts normally but as soon as I release the key, it stalls. If I hold the key in the start position after starting for 5 or 10 seconds, the tractor will usually stay running once I release the key. I知 not sure if it痴 the glow plug or the switch. I have bumped the key with my knee several times since buying the tractor, not an ideal location. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks for any help.

I haven't experienced it with a Koiti but I suspect the fuel shut off circuit from ignition switch(internal problem with switch). Replacing switch would solve that but I would make some tests before replacing switch. Running a jumper to fuel shut valve is where I'd start. If jumper keep's it running, you could use tractor with jumper until new switch arrives. Or a penny pincher might add a manually operated switch to jumper and call it fixed.

had a similar issue on the Mechron, what I figured water got into the inside, I sprayed some wd40 for a couple days at the same tome kept turning the switch, battery off, it works as it should now.
a new switch was over 100 dollars

Try spraying WD40 or electrical contact cleaner in the keyhole and work the key a few cycles. Consider doing this annually. This is a common problem, but not always in the stop solenoid contacts. Dirt and corrosion finds its way into the electrical part of the switch. You can replace the switch but the problem will return, eventually. So just try lubing it.

Current directly from the switch holds the stop solenoid in the run (retracted) position. Any interruption of this current (like dirt in the switch) will stop the engine.

I have a CK4010 with the factory cab, and gets no water or dust or debris inside the ignition. My neighbors Kioti is 4 years old and open to weather and elements, and his Ignition was not working correctly. We thought it maybe a worn key from so many years of use. Got a new key, same problem. He went to dealer to order a replacement ignition, and was told to first spray WD40 into his ignition, spray onto key and work both for 5 minutes to help lubricate his ignition. He did this, and each time he withdrew the key. You could see globs of dust/debris on his key. Everything works good now. However, he did order a new ignition on Ebay just in case.

The WD40 did the trick. I’ll oil every few months from now on. Thanks everyone.

I think you may find that silicone spray will work better and last longer than WD-40.

Maybe not. This is mainly a cleaning issue, not a lubrication issue. WD40 is mainly a light petro distillate that washes away the dust-grease paste that fouls the contacts. The switch is very simple (see here). It is just a metal disk with raised semicircular tracks that make and break contact with stationary contacts. The disk seems to be prone to corrosion and dust infiltrates the assembly.

WD 40 (I knew the factory rep) is a fish oil based product and as such is non corrosive.
WD stands for water displacement, trial 40.
In aviation I used it for all corrosion related troubles.
Every year I inject it into all my key slots and never have a problem.
On tractors and other key operated switches I also use it.
Key switches use a lube that over time (faster in open stations) simply dry up and WD dissolves and allows normal contact).

Hey, an aviation client insisted that we service his old C 310 AC so I delegated a technician to 'make and break' every contact and spray WD40 on a 'hope and prayer' approach.
Well that client flew IFR to Mexica and back on instruments without a problem.

And I am not attached in any way to WD40 company, Just a believer.
