I got to hurting bad last Friday, so I went to the ER and was diagnosed with a large kidney stone, doctor said it was pretty large and that I may not be able to pass it on my own, fast forward 3 days which is today I went to the follow-up with the uroligist and he said that I need to have some kind of ultrasonic something or another to bust up the stone so I can pass it, problem is the soonest they can do it is 10 days from now, I am hurting pretty bad and really don't want to wait that long, so my question is has anybody got any home remedies for breaking up and or passing a large kidney stone? I have already tried the one drinking a 6 pack of coke and eating a pound of asparagus and it did'nt work. Any help appreciated.

Ohhh it hurts just thinking about it. I've had two and have two hanging just waiting to drop. The last one passed in 2 days.

All I can add is drink lots of water and keep active. It seamed to me they moved more if I was mobil rather than sedentary.

I don't know of any cures or treatments, other than the ultrasonic thing, but it's incredible to me that they can't do it for 10 days.

That's what I thought to,but they say the machine is only here 2 times a month and next Fri is when it is supposed to be back, and I have what I consider good insurance to, so they know they are gonna get paid. I don't wish these things on anyone.

I had a couple of bouts of kidney stones go find the machine tell them to wait if they want. I have a high pain tolerance but kidney stones send the pain meter off of the chart. You will not handle this without help. I would not wait, it just means you are in pain longer.

Had them last year. Left side. Ouch. Lithotrypsy did not work. Intraurethra proceedure 4 days later got most of the pieces. Still painful for months as others passed. The Dr., prescribed 150 pain pills at the first visit. I was wondering how bad it was going to get. I found out, now I have about 5 pills left and don't go anywhere without them. I threw up in my bosses van on the way to the ER prior to the diagnosis, but at least I didn't go into the fetal position on the hospital floor. I have seen that done. I did think I was going to die as I lay on my own bathroom floor between the two proceedures. Thats how I found out the Lithotrypsy didn't work. Now I find out I have High Blood pressure due to the damage to the Kidney but it's not as bag as it was at the beginning.
Good luck with it.
