Kids love "pig pancakes"

I showed the pig pancake to the missus, and I think she was inspired. Our boys, especially our youngest, would love these pancakes- adorable.
Hey man we need to have chat about your use of word "adorable", that's a misdemeanor man card violation. 😉

discontinued
Lund's? Really? I just bought a box at the grocery store on Friday, made them on Saturday. If really discontinued, I'd better stock up for the next 20 years. :D

I just re-checked; musta fat-fingered something, because amazon has several sellers listing in-stock. Now I gotta put prime to work and order a box..
Sorry.

Good stuff. If you like both pancakes and crepes, you'll probably find these are the happy compromise between the two. Run your skillet a bit hotter than regular American style pancakes, melt some butter in the skillet, and then pour a few 3" - 4" medallions. The stuff is thin, and cooks quick, like 60 seconds per side at the right skillet temperature. You're going for the classic golden brown color on both sides, like the picture on the box.

Best with pure maple syrup, but also good with whipped cream and any berries (raspberry, blackberry, etc.).

We only use real maple syrup. It's $30-35 a gallon from the Amish here and $44 a gallon (4 qts) at Costco. We stock up and put the excess in the freezer so it stores better. If it sugars a bit just put the jar in hot water for a while.

We used to get the extra light "first run" syrup that I like the best. Dark amber is the most flavorful and that's what most people prefer but if you see "light amber", try it.

Once you get used to maple syrup you'll never have anything else. We even discretely bring a small squeeze bottle of syrup into a restaurant if going out.

Variation on a theme. Rabbit pancakes.
Kids will be lined up for breakfast.
