Two police officers for Rensselaer, New York, have been suspended as authorities investigate claims the cops used a golf cart to run down and kill a groundhog during a police union's golf tournament.

Authorities say witnesses reported seeing the two men chase a groundhog near one of the holes at the Frear Park Golf Course in the city of Troy last Friday. The animal was killed when the cart ran over it.

Rick Fusco, chief of police for the nearby city of Rensselaer, said Thursday that both officers have been suspended with pay while an internal investigation is continuing.

Fusco said he will attempt to fire both officers if an investigation finds them guilty.

I was mowing today when I saw him. He didn't seem scared, injured or unhealthy. I can't believe he let me get close enough to smash him with the bucket.

Groundhog education has also been subjected to the common core curriculum.

Our cops just hit peoples pet dogs with their patrol car and back over them when they arn't dead, all because someone reported a Coyotee in the area. Just a poor old Shepard with bad eyesight! Cowboys and Macho Gym Rats that should never have been given a badge and gun.

In a nearby town, a guy lived next door to a local cop. Cop's dog gets loose, goes next door, 'growls' at the landowner, who shoots the dog. Surprisingly, no charges filed. Dog was a German Shepherd pup, less than a year old. Rumors of prior feud between cop and dog shooter.

We live just a mile out of town. My neighbor releases any he catches in a state game area. I've trapped eight so far this summer and I just feed them to the other critters.

Our neighbor's dog (yellow lab) ran up to a small groundhog and hit it in the head with its paw... the groundhog croaked instantly. The dog just wanted to play. It was baffled. :confused3:

Our cocker managed to send a few to "ground hog heaven" just by barking at them. They apparently have a very weird heart system and will simply drop dead when they are young (not unlike rabbits from what I understand). It all changes when the hogs grow up and they will stand up and fight.
