In all my years down here in VA, I think I can only remember 2-3 times where the driveway was frozen before I cleared snow. We'll get powdery snow sometimes, but I almost always have to deal with heavy wet snow over soft gravel down here, so I feel your pain guys!

When it gets real heavy, it doesn't even really want to windrow off the blade -- will just end up rolling a tube of snow that breaks off chunks as I go along.

Other than completely ripping up my gravel when the trip edge would catch and I'd tear into it and and leave a 3" deep slashes, the plowing went really quick as each pass the sticky snow would stay piled in front of the blade, and I was moving huge piles each pass. I usually plow in 10th or 11 speed, 2WD, but I was pushing this stuff in 4WD chains on all wheels, 7th ,8th & 9th mostly.
Plan on taking the soft cab off today. Spring hopes eternal.

We got lucky with this latest mess, barely got 2" of wet mush. Not enough to even bother to start the truck, we just drove over the snow. Presently I'm waiting for Mother Nature to take it away.

Rain & sun clobbering the snow, 16 inch to start of bare spots on southern exposure. Where I plowed is a mud pit. PLow, Chains, Cab is off tractor.
I might try to rake some stone out of the snowbanks this weekend. I post photos of how that works.
