If you are looking for a replacement, I would start checking craigslist. I see a few parts mowers on there each month. You might luck up and find a King Kutter with metal damage and good gearbox cheap. We have a local tractor dealer that will rebuild one. Friend was telling me last week that he had a bush hog brand rebuilt there. I'm not sure of the cost or if the King Kutter can be rebuilt. I would check with a few of your local tractor dealers to see if they rebuild or can tell you someone that does. Hope that helps. Good luck with it!
