I sold my old place and moved into a <GASP!> neighborhood. Now I have this 2004 Kioti 3054 loader with a 72" rear finish mower sitting here. I've already used it to prep the yard for seed and bushhogged between the pine trees. The mower is way too big to get into the tightspots. I'd like to trade it in for a BX22 ( I had one before and it was a great lil' tractor) but I don't want to loose my shirt on the Kioti. It has approx 185 hours on it. What would you all do?

I'd take it to the dealer and ask him to sell the tractor on consignment. It's a shame, but you'll probably lose money on this deal.

But it's not much use keeping it if you can't use it...

That is a good idea. I've had some dealings with the local Kubota dealer and I wouldn't ever recommend him. I've had some great dealings with Steve Carver down in NC. I'm gonna see what happens :)

Thanks

How small is the yard? Would it make sense to get a lawn tractor with mmm, and keep big tractor. If you got a smaller mower for tractor you have now would it work? Maybe make a deal with neighbors to do theirs if you could do whole place quicker. plowking

Who did you sell your old place to? Apparently it was the right tractor for that place. Maybe the buyer would be interested in the tractor too.

On another note, though, I'll bet there's someone out there with a smaller compact that is looking for your 3054. It's just a matter of meeting up.

Try posting a "Wanted to Trade" ad in your local classifieds, Craig's list, etc.

All of you are missing the obvious answer here. Move out of the subdivision and go get 20 acres in the country and you can keep the tractor!!!

I'm still stuck on what to do. Where I'm at now I have 4 acres. I've got 200 acres down the road but use a 90hp tractor there. Out of the 4 acres here I only have bout 1 1/2 to 2 that are grass or that I plan to be grass ;) This was the perfect size tractor for the other property at 11 acres but I think money was kind of tight when they bought my old home. I've had a couple of offers of around $10,500 just with people stopping me in the neighborhood so I may end up selling it to a neighbor.
