Kioti DK45
How long of a break-in period do you need before using the tractor for heavy usage. I have a DK45 with 42 hrs on it and need to do some plowing. I have a 2 bottom plow and need to plow about 15 acres. Do I need to get more hrs on it before I use it for plowing?

Looked through my owners manual and all that I came up with was: DO NOT OPERATE THE TRACTOR AT FULL SPEED FOR THE FIRST 100 HOURS. Has no breakin procedure. Seems that I read somewhere that one should operate at half speed for the first 50hrs or so then at 2/3 speed or there abouts for the next 50hrs. I am sure that there a lot of tractors out there that were run wide open right out of the box and are still running. Have fun playing I mean (working) in your field.

Re: WSchubert

The only thing I've read is to be carefull through the first 50 hours as not to push the tractor too much. It does make sense that break in would be gradual as apposed to changing use exactly at 50 hrs. my DK35 has 15 hrs on it and i've used it for various tasks. My dealer said to use it as necessary but not to over rev during the break-in period (50hrs)
