As the title states, I was recently doing some work with 2010 Kioti CK20S. I had pulled up to a brush pile to begin pushing logs up onto a fire and had stopped to put the tractor in low range. However after switching ranges, the tractor wouldn't move. I put the lever back into high and nothing. That is when I noticed that the lever was loose in my hand. I pulled up and the whole lever came up out of the fender and I can see where the lever broke where the pin goes through it. Luckily I was able to get my tractor into low range with a pry bar and wedging it into the range shifter linkage and get the tractor away from active burn pile.
The lever has always been stiff since I got the tractor late last year, however it has always shifted into ranges just fine as long as you took your time and just firmly shifted ranges. I really had no indication it was going to break as I cranked the tractor, backed out of the shed and into my yard and drove towards my burn pile. It was only when I got there and tried to switch ranges that the lever broke.
From what I'm seeing, I will probably have to take the seat off to get down in there to fix it. Has anyone had to do this before? And if so, does anyone have the part# for the range select lever?
