Have here this new CK2610 gear tractor with turf tires. Took delivery late last week fresh off the truck from North Carolina.
I promise not to bad mouth it or review it properly until I have 50 hours on the clock.
Bought the machine to primarily mow my lawn with a rear mount Landpride 72 inch deck that I bought new and beat badly for 16 years. Tractor was purchased to replace a 2000 model year Cub Cadet 7260 gear tractor of comparable specs to this one. The older Cub never let me down and always started in Winter, the Great Bend loader was beefy and heisted way more than it ever should have.
Also this machine will have 6 foot tiller duties and 6 foot plot seeder duties.
I was able to do my own pre-delivery and setup of the tractor and loader, have installed 2 rear remotes but haven't used them yet.
Positives: I like the open station platform, one can enter and exit either side even with the loader valve installed.
Starts and runs well, no black smoke but smells like any old Diesel before any emissions add-ons, this engine has no EGR or DPF. The only thing I see is some type of aneroid valve to limit black smoke on startup and accel.
Negatives: Thus far the only ***** I have is that the gears grind unless you step on the clutch and wait a couple of seconds, my old Cub would never do that in fact I could still be rolling slightly and swap gears forward to reverse with no grinding. I've looked at the clutch adjustment and have even adjusted some freeplay out to no avail. I hope the break in cures this issue but I don't think it will.
Also when raising the 3ph it is lighting fast and is very hard to control small inputs.
The left side loader mount pin is really hard to get in/out. I have adjusted things for hours but still no workee very well.
Within 10 minutes of hooking up my tiller the 3 point hitch sway bar link on the left side broke clean off at the chain link where it was welded by a machine. You could see it was never completely welded through, no big deal.
Hey if Donald likes it so does the fred right? "MAKE THE GARDEN GREAT AGAIN!"
Regards, Fred
