Can you link that, please? Not finding it on AgriSupply
My New Holland tc45dh hydrostatic tractor’s pto shaft doesn’t turn freely either. Sometimes I have to start the tractor and engage and disengage the pto several times to get the spline liners up.This is the first tractor I've owned with the electric PTO engagement. HST (no clutch), no mid PTO just rear and no neutral or disengagement lever for PTO. Just the round yellow engage/disengage switch. Is it something I've missed or is it no longer possible to turn the tractor PTO output shaft freely while attaching an implement? My KIOTI requires that I rotate the flail or rototiller or mower blades or rotor by hand to align the PTO shaft splines with the splines on the tractor PTO output. Previously I could just rotate the tractor PTO shaft easily to align the splines. If I was 40-50 years younger or had a helper working with me all day it would be easier to make the connection.... I currently have my wife pushing/pulling on a crowbar when changing implements but she doesn't appreciate being on call all day. Dealer says that's the way it is. Of course I didn't try to hook anything up that uses a PTO before I paid for it and had it delivered.Thanks-Paul
Well, in my case, i have been able to turn the shaft connected to the implement by hand (bush hog, mower deck, post hole auger) and never knew any better - maybe because I was born in Queens with Trump and never owned a farm implement 'till I bought the Kubota and it's attendant implements and trailer when I retired as a halfback from Florida.I'm amazed I have not heard or read about my issue before. Thanks again
In your case, since your tractor uses a dry clutch to engage the PTO, all you need to do is to put the levers in the disengage position and then you should be able to turn the PTO shaft by hand easily.Well, in my case, i have been able to turn the shaft connected to the implement by hand (bush hog, mower deck, post hole auger) and never knew any better - maybe because I was born in Queens with ***** and never owned a farm implement 'till I bought the Kubota and it's attendant implements and trailer when I retired as a halfback from Florida.
I have the Hydrostatic business and never thought to try and turn the stubby spline shaft at the tractor; never tried to and, therefore can't say if it can be turned. Maybe next time I change implements . . .
"If the tractor doesn't have a lever to select between different PTO gears or between mid and rear PTO"
Mine has a lever for the mid and another for the rear PTO - Engage or Disengage are the options for each. As I recall, I have to depress the clutch pedal to engage either (and do so to disengage them as well).
But, when the tractor's not running . . . are those two output shafts 'engaged' or free wheeling? I do not know.
