Kioti DK SE Series Vertical Exhaust

Cool pic Paul, neat to see some of the mods up close like that. That wouldn't be a new LED warning light strip in the window beside the wiper would it, I don't remember that from the vid! This is a big issue for DK cab models because the stack WOULD be right in front of the intake. They didn't put the intake at the rear like yours, there are 4 vents, 2 on either side. One is in the middle of the door entrance, the other in the middle of the side window. I figure the first vent would be 2.5 - 3 feet from the end of the stack which seems way too close.

The top of the tractor is a double walled. The fans draw air from between the two layers from the outside. I'm considering sealing the vent closest to the stack. I don't think there would be an issue as long as 3 of 4 could draw air.

My 3 young kids are often in the cab with me. Even a little bit of bad air would be too much for me, so I'm starting to reconsider this idea.

3 kids in the cab.....you need to do a room addition

also, what ive been told by my dealer way back when. The Kioti draws air in thru these 4 vents during ac/heat cycles to pressurize the cab. so i was to beware when spraying chemicals of this fact. i never asked about vertical exhaust issues. I can see the Kubota draws its air from different locations.

That led light in the window was in my 4240 and Itransfered it over to the 5740 so I guess it was one of the first led lights I put in the tractor.

Great looking wet up you got there Ken. Well that's totally different than the Kubota's. Kubota only has one entry point for fresh air and that's a filtered system. we can either recycle the cabins air or flick a lever and only take in outside air. Do Kioti have cabin filters?
If that was my machine I'd sit in the cabwith the heat or AC on high and listen to the sound of the system running then have someone on the outside block the intake closest to where you intend installing the stack and listen again and see IF the sound changes or the flow of air slows down. You'd know by that test if blocking the one vent will put a strain on the system.

Here's how the bota looks inside where the fresh air enters. Also notice the recycling lever?

I could see that being expensive to service when compared to just having one. How big is each filter?Cost?

Thanks Paul. That's a good idea to test the air flow but it's going to be hard to get my wife to help without telling her about my plans though! I will try and I doubt it will affect performance since the air can circulate freely between the two layers of the roof. Even if I can block that vent, the second one on that side would still be pretty close, I'm not sure how concerned I should be. I might have to mount a CO detector in there.

Ouch, I didn't realize that. Paul's question got me thinking about if there even is a filter, I don't remember reading anything about changing them in the maint. sched. Guess it's time to dust off the manual again.

I have not chimed in about the air intake issues because, well, I don't have that problem. Maybe since I have an open station I should put the stack close, so when I cannot feel my fingers anymore I can just put them in front of the stack for some heat.:D

That sounds like a plan.
