My dealer offered me a 5yr bumper to bumper (or bucket to top link) Kioti warranty when I bought my tractor in 11/03. It was $1000 then. I asked him a few days ago and the plan is now $1250 on the same tractor.
Those prices are in line with what I have been quoted on both of my brands. I didn't accept them. Generally I would agree with what KiotiJohn posted. Just as he has seen advice against it, so have I. Now if I was going to put several hundred hours a year on a tractor year after year after year, or if I was going to put excessive miles on a car, then I would very likely consider an extended warranty an investment. Also, extended warranties are almost always cheaper to buy before you take delivery of your tractor, car, refridgerator, TV, etc.
