I'm coming up on my 50hr service and soon will have 11 gallons of perfectly good hyd/gear fluid to do something with. Donax-TD(now sprirax and approved in the Kioti manual) is what is going into my tractor.
Can I assume the factory fill is basically the same stuff? My buddy has the TEA-20 and I figured he could use my Kioti oil instead of buying new stuff, and having it drip out into the ground...
Both tractors have wet brakes, and dry clutches so I think there shouldn't be any problems?
Anyone had problems doing this?

Just out of curiosity are you looking to change all your hydro oil and your hydro filters at 50hrs of service?

I would think that any modern oil would work in that old tractor and be much better than original specd oil.

Cause the warranty requires it...... ONLY FOR THE first 50 hours of the tractors life... after that its every 200 hours as i recall. i checked on mine, and if i didnt change them AND keep the receipts with my records, this could void the total warranty on the engine and tranny.

That is the plan, mostly for warranty purposes but maybe the factory fills on equipment isn't the greatest stuff, after all its only got to last 50 hrs right?:confused2:
Anyone ever do an UOA on the Kioti factory fill?
Wet brakes on a Ferguson 20?? I don't think so.
That's what my buddy thought, and I'm no old tractor expert! That's why I bought a new one.
Odds are it will be fine I guess. He doesn't do alot of hours so its more to get a change of clean fluid with no water or contaminants in it yet.
I'll offer it to him and he can decide if he wants it or not.

I only asked because I have a new NH Boomer 3040 and at 50hrs I am only required to change the hydro and HST filters. Then at 300hrs I need to change the hydro oil. I just wondering why Kioti is making you change the hydro oil at 50hrs. Usually at 50hrs you should not have to change the hydro oil unless the company really puts in low grade stuff.

just a protect their butt attitude morethan likely. The old warranty only required filters also. The new one says all fluid. But i have a nice long 4 year warranty now so i dont care.

My Kioti manual also states a 200hr regular hydraulic fluid change (after the initial 50hr) but then there is a big decal on the tractor that tells me to do it every 300hrs.

Same with engine oil: manual says every 100hrs and decal says every 150hrs.

So I am also doing what the manual states during the warranty period but after that, I'll be changing oils a lot less and according to how hard the tractor is worked.

The last lot of 100hr old engine oil I drained out looked like what I was replacing it with!

You cant re-use the engine oil after 50 hours, because it will be special break-in oil, which is the cheapest **** there is. Its meant to allow wear, so parts get mated better.

The hydro oil, if your friend isnt intending to fix the leaks, the tractor probably isnt worth that oil... ;)
