I should have mentioned in my earlier post that I did indeed replace the suspect relay, the one that controls the dash display and I seem to remember the ignition circuit. It seemed to make the starting more consistent, BUT it did not solve the problem completely. And, that is part of why I did not mention it earlier. The dealer tested the relay I returned after installing a new one and told me it did not show as faulty. Hence the current thinking about the actual stop solenoid being the problem makes a lot more sense. I'm on board about the stop solenoid solving the intermittent start issue. I will try to remember to see if I hear the solenoid click/snap next time I can't start the machine, and it just cranks but does not fire. It would be a good thing to have this issue solved once and for all. Note: it never occurred when I had my DK-35se/hst for over 275+ hours of use prior to trading it for the DK-40.
(Also note there was a thread this past winter about this issue, and it was oriented toward the relay, NOT the solenoid being the problem; and now it seems the solenoid is the actual solution, for those interested in seeking out eh prior thinking about the relay, etc.)
