Hope that someone can point me in the right direction. I have a Kioti 1914, the FEL works OK without a load on it, however with even a light load of only a few hundred pounds it won't move at all. I have noticed the 3ph running slow at times too. I have cleaned the filter, but I have not changed out the hydraulic fluid yet. I don't know if I am losing the pump or posibly a pressure relief valve is sticking. Any suggestions on where I should start? I bought the tractor used and I don't know it's history. I sure could use some help.
Thanks

Always change all the fluids and filters first thing when buying used. Check out all the hydro lines to be sure there are not kinks keeping the fluid from flowing.
Of course, assure that you have the proper level without overfilling or underfilling.
Check the hydraulic valve body to see if there is a lever on there that opens up the power beyond port, and make sure it's open to the tractor, not the power beyond.
Does the engine appear to be up to snuff?
Do you know the year of MFG?
Go to a Kioti dealer and get the service manual too.
Barring a bad or going bad pump, it's probably a simple matter.
Once you change the fluids, be sure to run the loader up about half way, run it through all the moves, then lower it back down and let it sit on the ground while running for a few minutes to breach any air that may be in the system.
Keep us posted. John

If you've done this, did you fill the filter with fluid before you put it back on (you can do this if the filter goes on vertically)? Also, did you top up the fluid level of the transmission. Your fluid level maybe low and the system might be getting air or the filter maybe plugged. Has this problem just showed up or has it been gradually getting worse? If we ask enough questions we'll get to the bottom of this so hang in there.

Kioti John,
Thanks for the help. It took awhile to find out the model year, but according to Kioti it is a 1995 model, I have done alot of work to the tractor since I bought it. The engine is very strong with no major issues. I did change the oil and filter in the engine. I had the transmission checked by a dealer and had the front end of four wheel drive unit repaired, replaced the glow plug feed units and all the RAD hoses, replaced one blown hydraulic hose. greased the loader and the rest of the grease fitting checked, and even replaced the voltage regulator. I don't have a shop manual for it but need one. Kioti tells me that I must go through a dealer to get one and that dealer is no longer in bussiness. When I changed the filter I did fill the filter unit up and top off the trans via the sight glass. I will get some oil this week and change it out too. Thanks for the advise so far.

Steve,
I did fill the filter unit up before replacing it, and I did top off the the trans, via the sight glass. When the problem started out, I just noticed that it seemed a little weak, then one day when I strated up the tractor everything was extremly slow. One other problem during this time I was only home about 1 & 1/2 days a week. hard to trouble shoot at that rate.
Thanks for the support

There are several Kioti dealers that frequant the Kioti section of this site that would be happy to sell/send you any parts or manuals you may need.

OK folks,
The oil has been changed. I followed KiotiJohns advise and the loader is still only marginal. It will go up slowly with a light load. I can't see any kind of lever on the valve body either. Open for suggestions at this point. I should have the Manuals soon.
One more note on the funny side. This job only took a few minutes to complete. However it took several hours to clean up the mess I managed to make. Roughly the same size as the tractor. My wife found it humorous anyways. I'm glad I epoxy coated the garage floor. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
The lesson here is that when you pull the plug have all the buckets ready and within reach. Key is within reach. 5.5 gallons will not fit in a 3 gallon bucket and it does fill up very fast. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Okay, just a stab, but be SURE that you haven't overfilled the hydraulic fluid. Most modern fluids are anti-foaming, but any foaming can make it work less effectively. Probably not the problem, but check.
Also, you have a float feature on that loader by pushing the joytick all the way forward, right? Are you doing that from a high up position, or do you bring it down close to the ground, and then put it in float? Sometimes, if there is a little seal leak, dropping into float from on high can pull air into a leaking cylinder causing problems. Try doing the routine I first described and always power lower the bucket first before going into float and see it that makes a difference. If it does, you have an aging cylinder that should eventually be replaced.
Also, I believe you should check each and every connection to assure they are all tight, no leaks of any kind. From there, I don't know, other than a pump that needs rebuilding/replacing. John

Hello KiotiJohn
Well I made sure to not overfil the tran's. and yes it does have the float feature. I went back and checked the hoses and did find one small leak and the new hose will be ready tomorrow. I'm also getting a pressure gage to check the oil pressure. The Manuals should be here tomorrow also. I want to think everyone for the help that they have given me so far. Jon Depratt has also been a great help. He got me the manauls, given some trouble shooting tips, and has given me a great qoute on a new LK 3054Xs. So I may have a new tractor soon. However, I will solve this hdraulic problem first.
