Well,
My manuals won't be here til Monday now. I did check the hyd. pressure coming out of the valve going to the cylinder. Not what I wanted to see. started at 1500 psi and immediately dropped to 1100 - 1200. Well it still could be a couple other items, like, the pressure relief valve, I'll just have to wait for the Manuals. Thanks again for the help.
Oh, One more thing John, I must have had some air in the lines some place, because after I changed the hyd line with the small leak. My oil level dropped below the bottom line on the site glass. however still can't lift much. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Does the 1914 have a seperate pump for the power steering and then for the hydraulics? I looked on the Kioti website and it seems to me there is only one pump. If this is the case, I am wondering if you have power steering when the main hydraulics seem to fail? I don't have any diagrams to go by so this is a guess. If the the single pump is true and the steering is ok then I am going to guess the pump is ok and you have a relief valve hanging up or an internal leak. Hard to diagnose without placing a flow meter on the system. Most single pump units have a priority valve so you still have steering over hydraulics in the event of a blowed hose or major oil flow to the hydraulics. So when doing this test, steering under load may be more noticable. I would be curious as to the results. I guess I am only trying to rule out the pump for you and maybe steer you in some direction.

I just got the manuals tody and haven't had time to study them yet. However, I do know that some of what you say is true. The Kioti has only got the single pump. It sends the oil to the oil pressure relief assembly, which has a fixed flow control valve that powers the power steering. Hopefully tomorrow I will get a chance to read the manual and try some things out. I'll keep everyone posted as to what I find. thanks again for the input.

Ok, folks,

After reading the manual several times, With manual in hand, to the garage I went. Checked the Hydraulic pressure at the relief valve and it was right where it belonged 2275psi. So I knew the problem had to be in the FEL control valve, Pressure to the FEL 2275psi, pressure to lift cylinder 1500psi with a immediate drop to under 1100psi. In the process of taking the FEL control valve off the tractor, (Which I don't have a manual on), I found the adjustment for it. It was under the boot directly below the Joy stick. I put all the hyd. hoses back on and made a couple small adjustments and now I have 2150psi coming out of the control valve for the FEL and it holds the pressure. I had a fairly large rock in my yard and I was able to pick it up. All I could do before was push it around. I think we have it. Thanks for everyones imput. I really appreciate everyones help. I picked up a lot of knowledge on this one.

If you bought this machine used with the loader pressure being set so low, it makes me wonder how long the previous owner used it like that /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I really don't have any idea how long it was set that low. I'm just glad it wasn't the pump or some other serious problem. I'm grateful at this point that I can use it until I can trade it for a little bigger one. Like the LK3054, I'm looking at. I also decided to show the little fellow off, so here's a picture of it.
