I was also wondering if the toplink attachment needs to be special like the one in that picture. That looks like a really stout subframe too.

Given the somewhat rigid attachment of the Kioti's subframe, fitting a
toplink between the hoe and the tractor's toplink bracket will require that
you use an adjustable (OEM style) toplink, or custom make one to
accommodate the fixed hole spacing. I think an OEM style toplink is fine. The
stresses and potential damage to the tractor are to tractor's toplink
bracket and casting, but that stress will be quite a bit less than with
hoes supported with the 3-pt hitch. If it were my tractor and I had the
Kioti subframe, I would want the additional brace of the toplink.

Does your installation manual say anything about the toplink?

I Have the same tractor, subframe and backhoe as the original poster.
I have never used a top link for more suport. Never felt it needed it. My subframe has no noticable flex. If he is getting a lot of flex and clicking sounds something must be loose and moving.

I check the bolts on my KB2375 when I grease it. Some have become lose after a good bit of use. I noticed more lose when digging in hard stoney ground. I suspect a bit more vibration on all the mounts. I don't know the part name, but the bar running from side to side that is the top mount for the swing cylinders has come lose before. There are two bolts on each side that needed tightening.

No, the backhoe owners manual doesn't even mention the toplink. Oddly, it just lists the KB2085 as fitting DK45 & DK50, not DK35 &DK40. I guess the KB2085 came out before the 35 and 40. Also there is an exploded view drawing of where the two pins go to keep the subframe secure to the tractor, and the ones that came on my unit do not look like the ones in the drawing. Also my pins have been ground down on the sides.

You might be surprised at how much flex you are getting, Vince.
Try this: run your hoe to relief, then while doing so put your
leg or foot on part of the tractor behind or below your hoe seat.
You will feel movement relative to your seat, I will bet.
