No. You haven't provided enough information. What you described in your first post could be considered normal. We don't know the tractor or whether it has a generator, alternator or even a regulator. Some alternators have the regulator built in.

The alternator is a fixed magnet type and must have a rectifier in it because I get a DC voltage reading directly from it. The tractor also has a voltage regulator with a 6 prong connection.

Check the output voltage at the alternator for comparison. if they match, no worries. If the alt output is higher than what you read at battery terminals there is a voltage drop, meaning probably a corroded connection between them. If you are not experiencing any issues with other electrical loads( lights,etc) then I wouldn't be at all concerned. JMHO
