Exactly but it ends up that mine was often, early in my learning cycle, not fully on. I've learned now and corrected this by making sure its fully pushed on before the lock lever is pushed forward. This was suggested earlier in this thread. If fully pushed in with some effort it will indeed stop the tractor. So that solves the issue.

As to the fuel gauge. I suspect the NX model has a real gauge but the C series is likely a float type. Not as sophisticated I imagine. Sounds like it at least.

My NX will move in low with the parking brake on.

Eric, well, I did some grading this afternoon, and out of curiosity tested this in low range. No problem creeping with the parking brake on full. Can't in mid range.

I almost always start out in mid range, so I guess I hadn't noticed that there's a difference.

1. My NX has never had white smoke, 2. Also in low gear it will overcome the parking break but it is noticeable the extra throttle required and 3. My fuel gauge is also quick to register.
My former CK35 was slow.

I've mostly cleared the initial white smoke, which only occurs on cold mornings after its set for a few days, by doubling up the key on and glow plug cycle on those type of days. Hardly any at all then. If I don't end up starting the thing in a the morning on those types of days and end up starting up in the afternoon it doesn't have any issue with the steam.
