kioti NX rear remotes very hot

I have added a hydraulic top link on my NX4510. Today, after box blading for an hour or so, the rear remotes were extremely hot. The hydraulic top link was only warm. Could I have this hooked up wrong, or is this 'normal'? Neither remote has a detent.

The remotes on my tractor are warm with use. Don’t quote me on hydraulic operating temp but I assume it’s 165°f plus.

Define very hot. 140f isnt problematic for hydraulics & you cant keep your hands on that temp for 5 seconds.

Get an infrared thermometer from Harbor Freight or the usual cheap tool scumbags. $20 & it give you worlds better info.

A relief valve constantly open due to a stuck control valve or other plumbing problem will build a lot of heat pretty quick. 10hp or so being converted to heat will heat up a dozen gallons of fluid in a few minutes. Above 170-180 the fluid & seals start degrading.

Do you have orifices or flow controls in the top link lines? If yes are these plumbed in close to the quick disconnects? Reason for asking is that orifices create heat and if you had adjusted the top link a few times this could explain the QD being hot and the cylinder was cool.

On my NX the fluid runs about 100 over what the ambient air temp is, which in the summer if rotary cutting for several hours straight is a bit to hot for my liking. What year is your tractor, I ask because kioti changed the rear remote design a couple years ago for some reason. I’m thinking about removing my remotes for a few days and use the cutter and see what happens, I’m wondering if the old valve style has flow issues causing the oil to heat up.

The nature of hydraulics creates heat.

When doing a lot of loader work, my cylinders are often very hot to touch, but can still be touched.

It is also important to operate at PTO speed so the fan and coolers can do their job.

Hi. No flow control. Top link hardly used. Will have better idea on 'hot' once I get a temp guage. It's hot enough to steam when water put on it!

Yes, I think the change occured in 2015. Mine is 2016. I will pick up temp guage today.
