I have a front mount on my DK40 and it has never given me any trouble in the 10 years I've owned it.
The up side of paying the premium for a front mount is that it's a lot easier to operate, especially if you have a long driveway to clear.
The downside is that you can't use the loader while it's on and getting the subframe mounted can be a bit of a bear.
Luckily the sub frame goes on once a year in the fall and comes off again in the spring. If I need the loader, I just drop the blower, leave the subframe attached and do what I need to do. The blower goes on much easier vs the subframe.
Overall, I don't regret paying the extra money to have it.
